If you're leading a climate advocacy group, clean energy coalition, environmental justice organization, or any group doing the work of moving public opinion and policy on climate — the founding cohort is forming now.
We're looking for 20 mid-size organizations with active communications capacity who want to work from a shared strategic foundation rather than starting from scratch every time.
What you get: Access to the first shared audience intelligence study commissioned for the movement. A coordinated campaign playbook built for a live policy fight. A peer network of 19 other organizations working from the same foundation. Light-touch coordination that respects your autonomy.
What we ask: Commitment to the shared narrative framework. Coordination around one major issue moment in Year One. Your learnings contributed back into the common resource.
If you're a creator, journalist, independent writer, or communicator whose work reaches audiences on climate — directly or tangentially — the Commons is built for you too. Trust at scale lives with the people who've already earned it. We're building the research and relationships that help you put that trust to work.
What you get: Access to audience intelligence that tells you what's actually landing with the people you're trying to reach — not guesses, not vibes. Invitations to Crash Courses and peer convenings with communicators doing parallel work. A network of organizations and campaigns surfacing the moments where your voice matters most, and a coordinated movement you can plug into without losing your own.
What we ask: Bring your audience knowledge into the Commons — what's working, what's falling flat, what your people are actually asking about. Engage with the research when it's relevant to your work. Collaborate on shared moments when the timing is right and the fit feels real, always on your terms and in your voice.
If you're running a campaign, organizing at the district or community level, or leading the ground game where narrative meets voters — you are the Commons in action. This is where shared messaging infrastructure proves its worth or doesn't.
We're building direct pathways into the Commons for the people doing the frontline work: campaign managers and comms leads on live races and ballot measures, field organizers mobilizing in communities where projects are being sited or blocked, and local leaders facing the county commission meetings, the school board fights, and the permit hearings where climate politics actually plays out.
What you get: Access to tested frames and messaging guidance built on real audience research — not best guesses. A network of peers running parallel fights elsewhere. A feedback loop that turns what you're learning in the field into shared intelligence for the whole movement.
What we ask: Surface the narrative friction you're running into. Test frames in live settings and tell us what works and what doesn't. Bring the moments that matter — upcoming votes, live projects, community fights — into the Commons so the ecosystem can coordinate around them.
